| example for the proverbs :
With idioms and proverbs we never translate word-for-word.
As translators, we should get an equivalent idiom or proverb.
The Mawrid dictionary lists the proverbs in alphabetical order and he also mentions the following 1- the proverb in English 2- next to it on the same line, a word-for-word translation 3- the history of the verb 4- equivalent proverbs in arabic
So, some examples of how to answer, are as follows:
EX 1: Birds of a feather flock together. الطيور على أشكالها تقع-الطيور ذات الريش المتشابه يألف بعضها بعضاً EX 2: Blood is thicker than water.أنا و أخي على إبن عمي و أنا و ابن عمي على الغريب -الدم أشد كثافة من الماء an example of a creative answer is (an answer not in Mawrid gets 1 mark bonus) :
The BONUS Chance: EX 2:.قول الاخوة المصريين : عمر الدم ما يصير مَيَّة
HOWEVER, if the answer is repeated by more than one student, no one gets the mark. Even when you have a Bonus answer you MUST state the one that Al-Mawred provided WITH the creative answer. Now, make sure both Arabic and English have good spelling.
the vowels, capital or small letters, and even Arabic (-ه-ـه - ـة-ة) or (ء-أ-إ-آ-ا). Know the difference between the English comma (,) and the Arabic one (،). REMEMBER: Both English and Arabic sentences end with a full stop (.). good luck

Must we write an idiom from Almawrd or it's okay from anywhere? The BONUS chance is to write the SLANG proverb equivalent to one of the chosen 2 during the quiz. All the proverbs provided by Al-Mawred are STANDARD arabic. you do not know what you are asking dear.
