| the exam will include the last part of the 1st handout +2nd And 3rd
The exam sentences will not be the same as the ones we used in class, you will need to understand it.
the exam will be as follows:
10 MARKS / 5 sentences
Q1: State which strategy has been used to translate the following sentences and quote what has been adjusted in the ST and TT:
Example:
Source text : Don't blink when you apply mascara.
Target text:. لا ترمشي حين تضعين الماسكارا
Answer :
Name of strategy: Translation using a loan word.
ST : mascara
TT: الماسكارا
20 MARKS / 10 sentences
Q2: Decide whether the TT has been translated correctly or not. If the translation is wrong (false), re-translate the whole sentence correctly.
Source text: The apple was eaten by the boy.
Target text:.أكلت التفاحة بواسطة الصبي
Answer: False
.أكل الصبي التفاحة
